Praying for TRUTH

Is having another "bite-my-tongue" moment. I've had a lot of them over the last several months. My human nature wants to scream some truths from the rooftops so that others are aware. But God keeps telling me it's not my issue. I need to step aside and let Him handle it.

So what is the only thing I can do as I see lies continuing to be told & manipulations continuing to be tolerated? Pray. Pray that the person doing all these things gets convicted and repents. Pray that those under this person's leadership will have their eyes opened to the truth.

What makes me so angry is hypocrisy. I worry about those being led astray. I fear for the hurt that is still to be inflicted. Yet, God is clearly telling me to stay out of it. Let Him handle it in His way, His timing.

What's that saying, "The truth will set you free"? Well, I do think that's correct...but God is insistent that the TRUTH come from Him, not me.

So, I'll pray. And pray some more. And when my human nature flares up again like it is right now...I'll pray even harder.

Here's hoping my tongue makes it through relatively unscathed...

Finishing 2025 With My Soul On FIRE!

Well, before I get started, I just have to say - if you don't already know - I actually DID start my podcast!!! There are currently 7 episodes out (with one more scheduled to post Saturday). I am having SO much fun with it! I am just so stinkin' proud of myself for doing the dang thing. LOL Whether I'm the only who ever listens to it - or it reaches a few strangers on the internet - I am so happy to be saying a resounding YES! to God's call on this one. So. Much. Fun. Holy Whispers Welcome Episode And, I guess, that leads in nicely to this blog post.  Let's finish this year STRONG! Saying yes to all the things that light our souls on FIRE! Even the things that terrify us! God gave us this opportunity, so let's make it count!  As my birthday approaches in a few weeks, it always gets me taking the temperature on where my life is at. We're almost 8 full months into 2025. What were your goals in January? What are the reasons you're proud of yourself right n...

"You Have Stayed Long Enough at this Mountain" (Deut. 1:6)

One of the habits I'm loving this year is reading through the Bible chronologically with Tara Leigh Cobble on "The Bible Recap" (you can find it in multiple ways, but here's a good starting point:  The Bible Recap ). I've read through the Bible before, but Tara Leigh's way of summarizing each daily reading has me connecting to the Old Testament in ways I've not done in a while. I love reading verses I've read dozens of times before and learning something new. I mean, it just proves that Scripture is alive and God still speaks! So thankful God gave us His Word, and even more thankful that He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us understand it as we read.  While reading the first few chapters in Deuteronomy, I was catching a glimpse of Moses that I hadn't before. (For a quick overview of the book of Deuteronomy, I love The Bible Project's videos:  Deuteronomy .) Essentially, the book is mostly Moses just reminding the Israelites of everything they...

Mom Moments

Mom. It's the title I'm most proud of. The biggest blessing I've ever experienced. My daily prayer is that I don't screw this up. Well, not exactly, but I most certainly want to get this right! Life is fleeting. Time with these precious beings living under our roof will be gone before we want it to be. God has given us these little blessings, and therefore we have a responsibility to train them up according to His will. I do NOT recommend taking this motherhood thing lightly. God's Word has a lot to say about training up our kids and not leading them astray. Some days, the whole thing can feel pretty overwhelming! Today, I'm just enjoying my kids. Preparing to spend time in the pool as the heat index reaches 100+ this afternoon. Thinking about some fun mom moments from the past week. Wanting to just savor some of the recent blessings just a little bit longer. Here's one of my favorites: last Friday I was at the Speak Up! Conference and left the hous...
